Filling, sanding, caulking and spot priming happen before any colour — the slowest part of the job and the reason the finish lasts.

The things people ask before they book an estimate.
Detail work is slower per square foot. Baseboards and casings need caulking, nail-hole filling, sanding between coats and a hand-cut line. Ceilings need even rolling with no flashing and full room masking. The higher rate reflects the extra hours, not a better paint.
Wall and ceiling area, not floor area. A 12 x 14 room with 9 ft ceilings has roughly 470 sq ft of wall. The estimator on this page uses surface area, and we confirm the real figure by measuring on site.
Only if the scope changes — for example water damage found behind a wall during prep. If that happens we stop, explain, and agree the change with you in writing before doing anything that costs more.
Minimum charges may apply on very small jobs, because the setup, masking and clean-up time is the same whether it is one wall or five. We will always tell you upfront on the estimate.
Whole-home work is quoted per project rather than per square foot, which usually suits a bigger scope better than adding up individual rooms. Ask about it on the estimate visit.
